What does South America taste like?

Grape Gatorade, of course.

Hot Air Balloon Rally weekend is, in my opinion, the best weekend all year. Combined with the impressive stylings of local chalk artists, Wausonians can soak up happiness and beautiful scenes just by (literally, in my case) stepping out their front door. Something about both of those events brings a smile not only to my face, but to my heart as well. I'm glad to see that Wausau, and Central Wisconsin in general, is continuing to make progress in providing opportunites for all people to enjoy the talent and life around them. I can only hope that the city decides to leave the 400 Block as is, because there is no other place in this city as functional as that little area of grass. Without it, we would lack a lot of the culture and sense of community that has recently been introduced and has helped to make Wausau a much better place to live. I just love this city, and I really can't help it.

I read in the paper today that on my birthday, the first gay pride festival is being held in Central Wisconsin. Hooray for that. I watched another fantastic episode of 30 Days tonight, and was extremely moved by the outcome of Ryan the Marine's experience. Tolerance people, tolerance. I love shows like that, when people start out being extremely uncomfortable, only to end up regretting the prejudices that made them feel that way. It's such an interesting trasformation. So much can be learned.

So my weekend of freedom has come to an end, and it really wasn't that bad. I was way busier and a lot more tired than I was expecting to be, but other than that, it was ok. No one broke in, and there weren't any wild parties or anything, so hopefully this means that my parents will trust that I can handle some other similar situations. Probably not, but I can hope. Other than that, nothing else has really been going on. I can't wait to see Rachel and Mary tomorrow, and hopefully the rest of the week will be enjoyable, as well.

Adios ;)
